A garden is a great addition to any home. Whether indoor or outdoor, it adds to the beauty of the house and provides some health benefits as well.
Regardless of the garden size you have, there are ways you can create an organic one. You can even use some items you have at home to save money.
Eggshells
The eggshells are a very popular tool as they help control blossom end rot. What you need to do is crush four egg shells and mix them in the soil for every plant. The roots will eventually absorb the calcium from the eggshells and keep them strong.
Milk
A mixture of milk and water can also help prevent black spots on the leaves of roses. Just mix a cup of milk and two cups of water and put in a spray bottle. Spray the mixture to the rose leaves to protect them from those black spots.
Hot peppers
Hot peppers make great insect repellants. To make an organic mixture, gather some hot peppers and mix them in a blender together with two cups of water. Put in a spray bottle and first spray a little to the leaves of plants. If the leaves are okay after a day or two, you can continue using it.
Dish soap
Using dish soap in making an insect repellant is a good idea as well. Simply mix one tablespoon of dish soap to a half gallon of water and put in a spray bottle. Spray only a little on the leaves if you’re doing it for the first time then observe after two days. If the leaves remain okay, you can continue using the mixture. Dish soap is known to dissolve the outer waxy layer that covers insects resulting in their death.
