Cleaning products can easily be used up particularly if you’re the type of person who is meticulous in the home and does the cleaning on a daily basis. It can be costly on your part if you frequently buy your materials.
But you can always create your own cleaning materials using ingredients found in the home. And they can last longer if you use them efficiently.
Laundry detergent – You can actually make a powdered detergent by using a bar soap, Borax and washing soda. with this, it will cost you only 30 cents a load when you wash clothes.
Drain cleaner – To make a natural drain cleaner without the chemicals, all you need is to pour a half cup of baking soda down the drain and follow with a cup of white vinegar. Leave for an hour and then pour hot water down the drain.
Solution for noisy door hinges – An alternative to using oil for this problem is using a slice of cucumber. Rub the cucumber along the hinge of the door and you’ll get rid of the squeaks instantly.
Hardwood floor cleaner – Need to shine your hardwood the natural way? Use boiled tea when mopping the floor. Use three black tea bags, put them in a bucket then add boiling water. Wet your mop or towel using the liquid, squeeze and mop the floor and you’ll not only achieve a shiny floor but one that emits a fresh scent as well.
Toilet bowl cleaner – Ofentimes, we use chemical-filled cleaners for the toilet bowl. But there’s an option and that is to use a half cup baking soda, half cup white vinegar and two drops of natural dish soap. Pour them in the toilet bowl and scrub but let the mixture stay until the next flush.
